LAHORE: At least three kashmiris have been killed in two separate clashes with Indian forces in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) on Tuesday. Fighting erupted in northwestern area of Handwara after the Indian troops launched an operation and killed three kashmiri people. In another operation in the neighbouring Kupwara area, an Indian soldier was also killed in a continuing gunbattle, police claimed. The recent wave of deadly shootouts in IoK has already claimed the lives of 8 kashmiris. Moreover, 80 kashmiri people have been killed by the Indian forces this year. Anti-India sentiment runs deep in the region, and most people support the separatists’ cause while also participating in street protests against Indian control.
