
Federal educational institutions have launched a cycling initiative, distributing 300 bicycles to students nationwide. The programme aims to improve student health and promote eco-friendly transportation. Officials said the initiative will also encourage greater participation in sports and active lifestyles.
The Pakistan Sports Board will oversee the programme, while the Islamabad Cycling Association will implement it in schools. Officials emphasized that the initiative combines fitness, fun, and environmental awareness. Students are encouraged to cycle regularly to maintain physical well-being.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to foster healthy habits and community engagement among young people. Officials hope the programme will inspire students to adopt long-term fitness routines. Cycling, they noted, also reduces traffic congestion and carbon emissions in urban areas.
Separately, the Pakistan Tourism, Sports & Family Festival 2026 concluded successfully at the Pakistan Sports Complex. The festival featured a fun run marathon and a four-kilometre cycling race as its main attractions, drawing participants from all walks of life. Cash prizes of Rs10,000 were awarded to winners, boosting public participation and enthusiasm.

Officials said both the cycling programme and the festival reflect the government’s commitment to promoting health, fitness, and sustainable lifestyles. They added that such initiatives will continue nationwide to encourage active and environmentally conscious communities.
