Security forces thwart BLA terror attacks in Balochistan

Published on: January 31, 2026 5:54 PM

Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled a series of coordinated terrorist attacks across Balochistan on Wednesday. The attacks, branded “Herof 2.0,” were carried out by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its foreign-backed affiliates. Security agencies responded swiftly, neutralizing terrorists and restoring control across multiple locations within hours. No strategic installations were damaged, and only minor injuries were reported among security personnel.

In Quetta, four terrorists were killed after targeting a police van on Saryab Road. Frontier Corps (FC) reinforcements secured the area immediately, preventing civilian harm. In Nushki, terrorists attempted a fire raid on the FC Headquarters, but alert troops repelled them before any damage occurred. Dalbandin experienced two explosions near the FC post, yet rapid containment operations kept the situation under control. These responses highlighted the preparedness and professionalism of Pakistan’s security forces.

Additional attacks targeted Kalat, Pasni, Gwadar, Balicha, Tump, Mastung, and Kharan. In Kalat, terrorists tried to attack the Deputy Commissioner’s office and local police lines but were successfully repelled. In Pasni and Gwadar, laborers’ colonies and coast guard facilities were targeted, yet police and FC units intervened in time. Simultaneous grenade attacks and distant fire assaults in multiple towns were also thwarted, underscoring coordinated security measures and real-time intelligence operations.

Authorities confirmed that the overall situation remains under control. Only 2–3 security personnel sustained minor injuries. Analysts said the attacks were likely retaliation for recent counter-terrorism operations that eliminated over 50 terrorists in Balochistan. Experts emphasized that foreign-based BLA leaders exploit local youth for high-risk missions while remaining safe abroad. Propaganda networks attempt to misrepresent casualties as “enforced disappearances,” further misleading the public.

Officials stressed that terrorism cannot deliver progress or relief to Balochistan’s people. Security forces vowed to continue targeted operations against foreign-backed terrorist networks while safeguarding civilians. The failed “Herof 2.0” campaign demonstrated poor planning, weak execution, and the isolation of terrorist networks. Pakistan remains united against terrorism and committed to protecting all communities in Balochistan.
