Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced on Thursday that the provincial government has decided to initiate a judicial inquiry into the Gul Plaza tragedy, which claimed the lives of 80 people. The move aims to ensure accountability and transparency in the investigation.
The minister stated that the inquiry will be conducted through a judicial commission, giving it legal authority and independence. This step is intended to thoroughly examine the circumstances that led to the deadly fire and identify responsible parties.

Sharjeel Memon added that the government will formally write a letter to the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court (SHC) requesting the formation of the judicial commission. The court’s approval is expected to set the investigation in motion.
