Shahr-e Naw is known for housing many foreign nationals, embassies, and high-profile offices, making it one of Kabul’s typically safest neighborhoods. The attack has raised concerns about the growing threat to civilians and foreigners despite existing security measures.
Emergency responders reached the site quickly, and injured victims were transported to nearby hospitals. Roads around the blast site were temporarily closed, and authorities have urged residents to remain indoors while the investigation continues.
