Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses have introduced a new software feature that significantly improves voice call quality in noisy public spaces, making conversations clearer without relying on earbuds or a phone.
The feature, called Conversation Focus, is currently rolling out to users in Meta’s Early Access programme and works by locking onto the voice of the person directly in front of the wearer.

Conversation Focus filters out surrounding environmental noise, amplifying the target voice and allowing users to conduct face-to-face conversations or voice calls in cafés, streets, or offices with minimal interference from background sounds.
Activating the feature is simple: users can trigger it via voice command, such as saying “Hey Meta, start conversation focus,” after which the glasses automatically enhance the selected speaker’s voice within a 1.8-metre range.

Currently, the feature is available in the US and Canada and is compatible with Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses, making it a practical tool for daily communication in public environments.
Similar to Apple’s Conversation Awareness for AirPods, Meta’s update makes smart glasses more functional for everyday use, bridging the gap between wearable tech and practical voice communication in busy settings.
