An official of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has been dismissed from service after being found guilty of misusing his official position and engaging in misconduct involving a married woman, police sources said on Friday.

According to officials, the policeman faced two separate inquiries following complaints lodged by the woman, a doctor by profession. The first inquiry partially substantiated the allegations and recommended that he be demoted from sub-inspector to assistant sub-inspector. However, the complainant expressed dissatisfaction with the proposed punishment and filed another complaint, prompting further action.
The issue later gained traction on social media, increasing pressure on senior police officials to take stricter disciplinary measures. As a result, a second inquiry was ordered into the matter.
Sources said that during his posting as station house officer (SHO) of Loi Bher police station, the official allegedly developed a personal relationship with the woman, who had initially visited the police station in connection with a complaint. Even after his transfer, he reportedly maintained contact with her over several months.
The inquiry found that the official had unlawfully arranged a residential flat for the woman and paid her a substantial and unjustifiable amount of money. He was also found to have repeatedly visited the flat and remained in constant contact through WhatsApp messages and audio calls for nearly four months.
Subsequently, the woman lodged a written complaint with senior police officers, alleging that the official had forcibly entered her flat and sexually assaulted her. The matter was referred to the Internal Accountability Branch (IAB), which conducted a formal probe and, on September 15, 2025, recommended departmental proceedings.
A regular departmental inquiry was initiated on September 23 and entrusted to the superintendent of police of the Soan Zone. After completing the investigation, the inquiry officer submitted his report on December 6, concluding that the charges against the official were substantiated.

Following a personal hearing, the deputy inspector general (DIG) operations found the official’s explanations unsatisfactory and ruled that his conduct had brought disrepute to the police force. Consequently, he was awarded the major punishment of dismissal from service with immediate effect under the Punjab Police (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, as adopted by the ICT Police.
