The match began dramatically as Morocco took the lead in the fourth minute when Tannane unleashed a remarkable strike from the centre circle, catching Jordan goalkeeper Yazeed Abulaila off guard. Jordan responded in the second half with two quick goals from Ali Olwan, including a header in the 48th minute and a penalty in the 68th, turning the game in their favour and forcing Morocco to chase the match.

Hamed Allah restored hope for Morocco with a goal three minutes from full time, leveling the score and sending the match into extra time. He then scored the decisive winner from close range, completing a comeback that sparked celebrations among the Moroccan players and fans.

Despite missing several Europe-based stars ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco showcased their depth and talent. Their recent successes include becoming the first African and Arab nation to reach the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and claiming the Under-20 World Cup in October with a 2-0 victory over Argentina.

The nation’s youth teams have also excelled, with the under-17 side reaching the World Cup quarter-finals and the under-23 team winning the Africa Cup of Nations and bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
