Pakistan Rangers Sindh arrested an alleged extortionist associated with the Wasiullah Lakho group during an intelligence-based operation in Kharadar. According to a Rangers spokesperson on Friday, the suspect, identified as Mubashir alias Maya, son of Abdul Kareem, was taken into custody, and two mobile phones, a motorcycle and cash were recovered from him. The accused is listed among CIA’s most-wanted criminals. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly revealed that Wasiullah Lakho had demanded Rs. 5 million in extortion from a trader in FB Area and New Karachi. He further confessed that, on Lakho’s instructions, he and an accomplice named Sherry carried out firing outside the trader’s house and factory when the demand was not met. The spokesperson said CCTV footage clearly shows the arrested suspect involved in the firing incident. Raids are underway to track down other members of the extortion network. The arrested suspect and the recovered items have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
