Former Provincial Minister and Chairman/President of the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Ibrahim Hasan Murad met with former Foreign Minister and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in which matters related to education, governance, youth development and national challenges were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, both leaders expressed deep concern over the alarming fact that more than 25 million children in Pakistan are still out of school, terming it a significant educational and social crisis that threatens the country’s long-term development. They also held an in-depth discussion on the importance of university education, skills development and its broader socio-economic impact.

Ibrahim Hasan Murad stressed that effective governance is rooted in strong and well-designed policy frameworks, while the biggest challenge Pakistan faces today is the education crisis. He added that sustainable national progress is not possible without expanding opportunities for higher education, modern skills training and practical learning for the youth. He further expressed that Pakistan’s youth possess immense potential and with timely guidance and support, they can excel globally and bring pride to the nation.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari appreciated UMT’s contributions to higher education and said that the university’s role in promoting academic excellence is highly commendable. He added that institutions like UMT are playing a vital role in strengthening the future of Pakistan’s education sector. The PPP Chairman emphasized that providing the youth with quality education and modern learning facilities is the need of the hour so they can actively participate in the country’s development and progress.

At the end of the meeting, Ibrahim Hasan Murad presented a souvenir to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
