Rohit Sharma rises

The International Cricket Council released fresh player rankings on Wednesday, bringing major changes across formats and highlighting standout performances from several top cricketing nations. The latest update reflects a highly competitive phase in global cricket, with multiple players rising sharply in different categories.

India’s Rohit Sharma now leads the ODI batting rankings after climbing to the top position. Virat Kohli also improved his standing and moved up two places to second. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Babar Azam held firm at sixth, maintaining his strong presence in the format.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Afghanistan star Rashid Khan claimed the No. 1 spot with another impressive surge. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed stayed at ninth, while Shaheen Shah Afridi gained two places to reach 19th. Haris Rauf also advanced one slot to 22nd, continuing his steady upward movement.

Pakistan’s players made further progress in the T20 format with Sahibzada Farhan climbing one position to fifth in batting rankings. In the T20 bowling list, Abrar Ahmed remained secure at fourth. Mohammad Nawaz held his position at 11th, keeping Pakistan well represented across the charts.

Australia’s Mitchell Starc achieved a career-best ranking in the Test bowling category, rising to third. His recent performances have strengthened his status as one of the world’s most dangerous fast bowlers. However, Pakistan’s Test spinner Noman Ali slipped to fourth after previously securing a higher position.

The latest shifts showcase intense competition in international cricket, driven by consistent performances from players across India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Australia. These movements also highlight changing team dynamics as squads prepare for upcoming series.

The ICC update sets the stage for more changes in the coming weeks. As global cricket enters a busy phase, fans can expect further reshuffling in player positions as teams push for dominance.
