Section 144 empowers district administrations to issue orders in public interest, banning specific activities for a designated period. Violations are enforceable under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Meanwhile, similar restrictions have been imposed in Karachi around all intermediate examination centers to prevent cheating and maintain exam transparency. The Section 144 enforcement in Karachi will remain in effect until 30 December, covering daily examinations scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Only candidates with verified admit cards and staff on duty will be allowed within the centers, while entry for unrelated persons is prohibited within a 200-yard radius of the sites.
