
KYIV – A Russian drone and missile strike damaged a railway hub near Kyiv, Ukraine’s state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia said. The attack hit the depot, several railway carriages, and caused fires in the town of Fastiv. No casualties were reported.
The strike forced cancellation of several suburban trains near Kyiv and in the city of Chernihiv, affecting daily commuters and freight services. Emergency services confirmed fire and structural damage at the railway station and depot.

Russia has intensified attacks on Ukraine’s energy and transport infrastructure, targeting power stations, railway hubs, and other critical facilities. The recent strikes aim to disrupt logistics, civilian movement, and supply chains.
Ukrainian authorities said the Chernihiv region also suffered infrastructure damage. Rail operators are working to reroute trains and maintain essential services amid repeated attacks. Emergency crews were deployed to control fires and repair damaged tracks and carriages.
