Pakistan is preparing to roll out an artificial intelligence-based immigration system in January, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced, aiming to curb illegal travel and strengthen checks on forged documents and agent mafias.
Speaking at a high-level meeting with Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Naqvi said the AI system would help authorities determine “who is fit to travel and who is not.”
The ministers decided to clamp down on forged travel documents and target networks involved in illegal visa operations, with final recommendations on the reform package expected within seven days.

Naqvi highlighted that the Protectors system, which issues emigration clearances for Pakistanis traveling abroad on work visas, would be made completely foolproof to prevent misuse and enhance transparency for travelers.
He also said passports of deported individuals would be canceled and barred from future visa issuance, while a uniform international driving license would soon be issued by the National Police Bureau.
