Sources reported that heavy gunfire and multiple explosions echoed from within the fort as security forces countered the assault. The FC spokesman confirmed that the attempt to infiltrate the camp had been thwarted and that a clearance operation was continuing inside the facility. Some unconfirmed reports suggested that as many as six terrorists may have been killed.
In a separate incident, terrorists also ambushed an FC checkpost in the Gurmakan area of Panjgur district later in the evening. Security officials said intense gunfire was exchanged between FC personnel and the attackers, and several militants were reportedly killed during the clash, which continued late into the night.
