Dengue cases increased in Lahore as three patients, including two women, died on Monday. Health officials treated the deaths as a serious warning and urged the public to stay alert. The health department confirmed these as the first dengue-related deaths of 2025. Doctors said all three patients showed severe symptoms before they died.
Two patients, Moeez and Rimsha, were taken to a private hospital in Johar Town. Their conditions worsened despite treatment. Another patient, Shabana, reached Mayo Hospital with high fever and chest pain. Doctors sent their blood samples for testing. Labs confirmed all three were infected with the dengue virus.

Officials said the patients’ conditions escalated quickly. Medical teams tried to stabilise them, but their bodies could not fight the infection. The deaths shocked many residents as dengue usually spreads later in the year. Authorities now fear more cases may appear soon.
Official records showed 4,117 positive dengue cases across major cities. Most cases were reported in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala and Murree. Health experts warned that rising temperatures and stagnant water increase mosquito breeding. They urged strict preventive steps to control dengue spread.

Authorities asked the public to remove standing water and use mosquito protection. They also advised early testing for anyone with high fever or body pain. As dengue cases continue to climb, officials stressed urgent action to prevent more deaths and control dengue cases.
