Deadly drone strikes hit Kharkiv again

Published on: November 24, 2025 3:44 PM

Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, killing four people and injuring several others on Sunday, officials confirmed. The assault struck multiple neighborhoods, causing widespread damage and leaving emergency teams struggling to control the situation.

Moreover, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said four people lost their lives, including one victim whose body was pulled from beneath the rubble. Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov added that 12 people were injured, among them two children aged 11 and 12 who required urgent medical care.

Additionally, authorities reported fifteen strikes across six areas of the city, marking one of the heaviest drone attacks in recent weeks. Kharkiv, located just 30 kilometers from the Russian border, has remained a frequent target throughout the more than three-and-a-half-year-long conflict.

Furthermore, the city famously resisted Russian attempts to capture it during the early phase of the war. However, repeated strikes continue to damage its infrastructure, disrupt daily life, and place immense pressure on rescue teams and medical services working around the clock.

In a separate incident farther south, officials in the Dnipropetrovsk region confirmed that two people were killed in a Russian strike on the town of Marhanets. The attack added to growing concerns about intensified bombardments across multiple Ukrainian regions.

As fighting continues, Ukrainian authorities remain on high alert, warning residents to stay in shelters whenever air raid sirens sound. Emergency crews continue clearing debris and assisting survivors while preparing for the possibility of more attacks in the coming days.
