
The Ministry of Interior has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army and civil armed forces to support the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the upcoming by-elections on November 23.
The deployment was authorized following a formal request by the ECP, aiming to ensure a peaceful and transparent voting process across all constituencies during the scheduled by-polls.

Under the plan, civil armed forces will act as second-tier responders, operating in standby or quick reaction mode to assist in maintaining law and order at polling stations.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army has been assigned as third-tier responders in an in-situ Quick Reaction Force mode, prepared to respond immediately to any unforeseen security challenges.

Officials emphasized that the armed forces’ role is purely supportive, reinforcing the ECP’s capacity to conduct elections smoothly while maintaining voter safety and preventing disruptions.
The interior ministry reiterated its commitment to a secure voting environment, stating that this deployment reflects coordinated efforts between federal authorities and security agencies for the fair conduct of November 23 by-polls.
