The Pakistani teleplay Gidh (Vulture) is set to make its international debut at the Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival (MISAFF) in Canada, festival organisers confirmed. The 11th edition of MISAFF will run from November 24 to 30, featuring a film symposium and screenings at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre and the Noel Ryan Theatre at the Mississauga Central Library.
Written and directed by Kanwal Khoosat, Gidh explores themes of mystery, silence, and revelation. The teleplay stars Rasti Farooq as a young married woman who encounters an unexpected visitor, a younger woman from the fictional town of Naqshapur played by Sana Jafri. Their tense interactions over chai gradually reveal secrets that neither character can escape.

Produced by Sarmad Khoosat and Asil Baqa, the teleplay’s world premiere is scheduled for November 24. The festival will present films from across Canada, the US, the UK, India, Pakistan, Palestine, and more, accompanied by red-carpet screenings and audience discussions.
Alongside Gidh, MISAFF will screen Jafri’s Permanent Guest (Mustaqil Mehmaan), which premiered earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Rahul Aijaz’s Indus Echoes, marking the first Pakistani Sindhi film in 28 years. The festival highlights thought-provoking and socially conscious cinema, giving a global platform to South Asian storytellers.
