
As winter sets in across Pakistan, schools have announced their winter vacations along with ongoing exam schedules. In Balochistan, government schools will remain closed for two and a half months starting from December 16, 2025. Students in the province are currently appearing in exams, with grades one to seven being tested in Chaman and grade eight board exams scheduled to start on November 24, 2025.

In Punjab, winter vacations have been scheduled from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026, with schools set to reopen on January 13, 2026. Rumors about early school closures due to smog have been dismissed by provincial authorities, confirming that no such decision has been made yet.
Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mansehra district, schools will observe a short holiday from November 22 to 24, 2025. The three-day closure applies to both government and private schools due to the upcoming by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-18, which is scheduled for November 23, 2025.

The provincial education departments have advised students, parents, and teachers to plan accordingly for holidays and examination preparations. Authorities emphasized that the closures aim to ensure safety and smooth conduct of exams and electoral activities.
