KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has called for the swift completion of the Korangi Causeway, Shahrah-i-Bhutto, and Karimabad underpass projects, emphasizing the need to ease urban congestion and support economic activity.

Accompanied by senior officials, including Local Government Minister Nasir Shah and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, the CM inspected the sites and instructed authorities to eliminate bottlenecks, increase manpower, and work round-the-clock where feasible. He stressed visible daily progress and better coordination with traffic authorities during ongoing construction.

The Karimabad underpass has achieved 85% physical progress, while the Murghi Khana segment of Shahrah-i-Bhutto is 98% complete. CM Shah directed immediate installation of signboards, landscaping, and final quality checks to ensure timely opening by December 2025 or January 2026.

At the Korangi Causeway, reconstruction and elevation work is underway to prevent seasonal flooding and repeated closures. The CM urged authorities to work in full force, noting the causeway’s importance for commuters and Karachi’s industrial sector.
