Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was under the full control of ex-army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and ex-ISI chief Faiz Hamid during the PTI government.
Asif described the recent report on Bushra Bibi by The Economist as accurate, emphasizing that the magazine is a credible international publication, not an ordinary journal, highlighting alleged security concerns linked to her role.
He alleged that Bushra Bibi acted in coordination with General Faiz Hamid, feeding information to Imran Khan that often proved true within days, which, according to him, allowed the military to exert influence over PTI’s founder.

The minister claimed that detailed reports by then-ISI chief General Asim Munir on Bushra Bibi’s activities angered Khan, resulting in Munir’s removal, and he accused the former prime minister of relying on superstition for political decisions.
Asif criticized PTI’s leadership choices, citing the selection of Usman Buzdar as chief minister influenced by spiritual guidance, and alleged corruption funds were sent abroad while Khan personally benefited, calling it a “national insult.”
