He linked the call for unity to the teachings of Allama Iqbal, urging Pakistanis to follow the poet’s philosophy. “Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam are benefactors of the nation; nations that remember their benefactors prosper,” he said.
The minister highlighted that Sialkot, Iqbal’s birthplace, is celebrating the poet’s 148th birth anniversary. He noted his personal connection, recalling that his elders lived in Iqbal’s neighborhood, and emphasized that Iqbal’s poetry remains globally influential in both Urdu and Persian.

Asif expressed concern that the Ummah is straying from Iqbal’s vision, noting that Muslims in Gaza and Kashmir continue to face severe oppression. He called on leaders and citizens alike to advocate for justice and human rights in these regions.
He concluded by praying for courage and unity, urging Muslims to raise their voices for the oppressed. “May Allah give us the strength to stand for Gaza, Palestine, and Kashmir and uphold justice across the Muslim world,” he said.
