Unrest in Afghanistan is worsening with growing violent attacks against officials of interim Taliban Government. In a latest attack NRF militants attacked a Taliban checkpoint on Islam Qala Road near Herat, close to the Afghanistan-Iran border, killing two Taliban terrorists and seizing their weapons without facing any casualty of their foot soldiers. This attack was launched on night 10th and 11th November with obvious intent to further dent the loosening writ of Taliban in various bordering regions.
As per well-placed sources, The NRF stated that Afghans are fed up with Taliban rule and are striving to free the country from illegitimate control. Warlord Ismail Khan, the “Lion of Herat,” has also joined the fight, preparing further assaults. Since 1 October 2025, resistance groups have reportedly killed at least 53 Taliban members across several provinces, posing an escalating challenge to Taliban authority.
The Taliban regime is facing growing internal turmoil, with infighting between its own factions and other armed groups across Afghanistan. This instability has emboldened resistance movements, particularly National Resistance Front (NRF), which has intensified its operations nationwide.
Analysts opine that sense of dissatisfaction among the Afghan masses is increasing against the Taliban ruling regime with the return of illegal migrants form Pakistan.
Afghan masses believe that Taliban’s unnatural tilt towards Modi regime is a key factor behind terrorism specific tensions with Islamabad. Public dissent, internal rifts, unaffordable linkage with terrorist outfits and attacks from resistance front have pushed Taliban in a tight spot.
