Maryam criticises court’s decision of granting bail to Imran

Published on: November 14, 2017 8:06 PM

LAHORE: Criticising an anti-terrorism court’s (ATC) decision of granting bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in four separate cases, Maryam Nawaz said on Tuesday that all ‘judicial standards ’ were set for Nawaz and his family only.

Earlier on Tuesday, PTI chief appeared before the ATC and was granted bail in all four cases which were registered against him following several incidents of clashes between party workers and police personnel during the 2014 anti-government protest in Islamabad.

In a reference to Imran’s failure of appearing before ATC in the past two years, Maryam tweeted that no one could ask a proclaimed offender ‘where was he in last two years?’.

Commenting on the reservation of Imran’s disqualification case verdict, she said that the case was more serious in terms of its legal implications than “Iqama joke”.

IK's case is far more serious in terms of legal implications than Iqama joke. Nation now waiting to see the decision in his case.

She also criticised the Chief Justice Saqib Nisar’s remarks about the delay in final verdict of the case and said all urgency was for Nawaz only.

Maryam further said that Nawaz had set an example for others by presenting himself for ruthless accountability.

That's true. Nawaz Sharif by presenting himself for ruthless accountability knowing it was a farce has forced others to measure up. https://t.co/GkMRxwIWr5
