
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has so far deported more than 828,000 Afghan nationals as the repatriation process continues through various border crossings, officials said on Sunday.
According to official data, 5,220 Afghans crossed into Afghanistan on Saturday via the Torkham border. Among them, 19 individuals were from Islamabad and 450 from Punjab. Out of the total, 401 were legal residents, while 2,314 were staying in Pakistan illegally. Authorities said that 25,392 Afghans have returned to their homeland from other provinces since the repatriation drive began.

Additionally, 19 Afghan nationals were deported through different transit routes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Landi Kotal, and Kohat, on Saturday. This brought the total number of Afghans repatriated via these KP routes to 7,261.
Officials reaffirmed that the deportation process is being carried out in coordination with relevant agencies, ensuring that all returnees are processed through designated legal and humanitarian procedures.
