ISLAMABAD – Pakistan strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza, which have killed many civilians despite the ceasefire agreement. Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Pakistan’s Acting Permanent Representative to the UN, criticized these actions during an open debate at the United Nations Security Council. He said Israel’s attacks violate both the letter and spirit of the Sharm-El Sheikh ceasefire agreement. Furthermore, he emphasized that such aggression undermines regional peace efforts. Pakistan called on all parties to respect international law and humanitarian norms.
Jadoon highlighted recent Israeli moves in the occupied West Bank, condemning two draft laws that aim to impose Israeli sovereignty. He described these actions as illegal, violating historical rights of Palestinians and multiple UN resolutions. Moreover, Jadoon warned that annexation and forced displacement would escalate tensions further. He stressed that peace and stability cannot be achieved through occupation or oppression. Pakistan urged the international community to prevent further violations and uphold Palestinian rights.

The Pakistani representative demanded full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire, including an immediate cessation of hostilities and Israel’s withdrawal from the region. He also called for unrestricted humanitarian access for aid agencies, particularly UNRWA, which provides essential services to Palestinians. Additionally, Jadoon emphasized the need for accountability for crimes committed against civilians. He linked humanitarian relief directly to international obligations and stressed that Israel must cooperate with UN agencies to ensure aid reaches affected populations.
Jadoon reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to a two-state solution, based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital of Palestine. He called for a time-bound political process consistent with international legitimacy and UN resolutions. Moreover, he stressed that illegal settlements and annexations must stop immediately. Pakistan urged the international community to push for concrete steps toward Palestinian sovereignty. Jadoon highlighted that lasting peace requires respect for Palestinian rights, legal frameworks, and historical claims.
