Published on: October 20, 2025 5:40 PM

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the expansion of the Karachi Safe City Project – Phase 2, aiming to strengthen urban security and modernize policing across the city.

According to a statement shared on the Sindh Information Department’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by the CM. The meeting was attended by Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Inspector General of Police, and other senior officials.

During the meeting, CM Murad Ali Shah emphasized that Karachi is Pakistan’s economic hub, and ensuring citizens’ safety remains the government’s top priority. He instructed authorities to improve network connectivity for data transmission and integrate law enforcement databases to support smart policing.
