ISLAMABAD: Commerce Secretary Muhammad Younus Dagha has said measures are being taken by the government to enhance country’s exports and to rationalize imports. There had been an average growth of 11 percent in country’s exports from July to September this year and it would increase further in the future, he said. He said the prime minister’s package announced to increase exports had improved the country’s economic situation. He further said Pakistan’s economy was moving in the right direction and economic indicators were also positive, due to the measures taken by the government, He said Pakistan had got the status of ’emerging Pakistan’ which was a significant achievement. He said the government would also appoint brand ambassadors to present a positive image of Pakistan abroad. Younus Dagha said there was increase in country’s imports as a developing country needs to import machinery, raw material and fuel. Published in Daily Times, November 12th 2017.
