
The Meteorological Department has predicted widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across Pakistan from October 2 to October 7, with several regions also likely to face hailstorms and strong winds. Authorities have warned of possible disruptions, urging citizens and local administrations to remain cautious during the predicted wet spell that will impact both plains and mountainous areas.
According to the forecast, Punjab and Islamabad are expected to receive rainfall and hailstorms between October 3 and 6. Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will likely experience continuous rainfall from October 2 to 7, accompanied by strong winds and hail in certain districts. This wet weather is anticipated to bring much-needed relief from heat but could also trigger local flooding in vulnerable areas.

In northern regions, including Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, rainfall is expected on October 2 and 3, while from October 4 to 7, snowfall may occur in parts of Kashmir. The anticipated snowfall in upper mountains could cause a sharp drop in temperatures, marking the early arrival of winter conditions in the region.
Meanwhile, Sindh is forecast to receive rainfall in several districts starting from Wednesday night until October 3. In addition, Balochistan is likely to experience rain showers and stormy winds between October 4 and 6, with chances of isolated heavy downpours. The varying weather patterns could disrupt daily life, particularly in low-lying and coastal areas.
The department has also issued warnings of urban flooding in low-lying cities and possible flash floods in streams and rivers. Such conditions may increase risks for residents, livestock, and agriculture. Officials have been instructed to remain on high alert to minimize damages and ensure timely emergency responses.
