An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police embraced martyrdom when some unidentified assailants who were riding a motorcycle opened fire on him in Karachi. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada said that the incident occurred during resistance in a dacoity attempt in Bhains Colony located in Karachi. The SSP said that the martyred ASI was going home after performing his duties. The victim, Qaisar Ali, was performing his duties in Saudabad Police Station, Karachi.All assistants escaped from the scene, leaving behind their motorcycle. Later, the police team took custody of the motorcycle. Soon after receiving the report, the police team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body of ASI to the hospital. Police started an investigation into the incident. Separately, one person was killed in a firing incident that took place near Super Highway area of Karachi, Police sources reported on Tuesday. According to initial reports, unknown assailants opened fire and killed a person near Super Highway area of Karachi. The Rescue team after receiving reports rushed to the site and shifted the dead to hospital. Police team also reached the spot and started search for the culprit behind this firing incident.
