After three days of intense heat and humidity, Karachi finally received welcome showers on Tuesday, breaking the grip of hot weather. Various areas across the city experienced light to heavy rainfall, bringing much-needed relief and a pleasant change in temperature.
The rainfall helped lower the temperature significantly, making the atmosphere cooler and more comfortable. Areas like Hassan Square, Garden, Gulbahar, Karsaz, Shahrah-e-Faisal, MA Jinnah Road, Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, Shahin Complex, Jail Chowrangi, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, and Kashmir Road all recorded rain. Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Old City Area, Kharadar, Sher Shah, and Baldia Town also saw showers.

Rain was not limited to Karachi alone. Several districts in Sindh, including Sanghar and Sehwan, experienced strong winds and heavy downpours. These showers helped end the hot and humid spell that had persisted for days. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had earlier forecasted post-monsoon activity, predicting light to moderate rain in Karachi today and tomorrow.
The PMD’s Cyclone Warning Centre reported that a well-marked low-pressure area near the Gulf of Khambhat and Gujarat (India) is likely to move northwest. However, it added that there is currently no threat to any coastal region of Pakistan. The system is under continuous monitoring.
Rain has also been forecast in other districts such as Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Badin. Winds may blow at speeds of 45 to 55 km/h, and due to strong gusts over the sea, fishermen have been advised not to venture into deep waters until October 2.
