Ali Zafar leads a sold-out concert at Alhamra for flood relief

Published on: September 29, 2025 11:48 PM

The Alhamra Cultural Complex came alive as Ali Zafar and a stellar line-up of artists united for a sold-out flood relief concert organised by the Ali Zafar Foundation.

Tickets were gone a day before the show, announced only days earlier, underscoring the excitement around the event.

Ali Zafar set the tone with a soulful entry, singing his famous qawwali-inspired Balaghal Ula Bi Kamalihi as a prayer, before driving the crowd wild with hits like Larsha Pekhawar Ta, Channo, Madhubala and Rangeen.

The line-up included Arif Lohar, Aima Baig, Danyal Zafar, Ali Noor, Goher Mumtaz, and Natasha Baig – all of whom performed free of charge for the cause. Zafar himself not only waived his fee but also personally contributed to the Foundation to maximise funds for flood victims.

In a night filled with energy and emotion, Zafar invited each artist on stage one by one, building towards a spectacular finale: a fusion of Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall with Nusrat Fateh Ali Dum Mast Qalandar. The surprise performance brought the crowd to its feet and is already being hailed as one of the most memorable collaborations in recent years. Beyond the music, the concert highlighted the Ali Zafar Foundation’s work in women’s education and relief efforts during national crises, while showcasing the power of art and unity. Saturday night at Alhamra proved that music can inspire, heal and bring people together for humanity.
