Ali Rashid appointed Sindh IT Minister, Ghani reassigned

Published on: September 26, 2025 6:03 PM

The Sindh government has reshuffled its cabinet, making key changes in ministerial portfolios. Ali Rashid has been appointed as the new provincial IT Minister. Meanwhile, Saeed Ghani has been moved from the Ministry of Local Government to the Ministry of Labour & Social Protection. This reshuffle signals a strategic shift within the provincial government’s leadership.

Shahid Thaheem has stepped down from the Ministry of Labour. Nasir Hussain Shah now holds the important position of Minister of Local Government. Additionally, Jam Khan Shoro, who already serves as Minister for Irrigation, has been given the additional portfolio of Ministry of Planning & Development. These changes aim to strengthen governance and administrative efficiency.

Further changes include Ismail Rahu’s appointment as Minister of University Boards. Makhdoom Mehboob has taken charge of the Food Department. Jabar Khan has been transferred to the Relief Department. Meanwhile, Sham Sundar Advani has been named Special Assistant to the Chief Minister. These appointments expand the cabinet’s focus on diverse provincial needs.

The new cabinet members are expected to take their oaths later this evening. The reshuffle reflects the Sindh government’s intent to optimize leadership roles. It also suggests a focus on improving governance in key sectors like IT, labour, and local government.

In summary, the Sindh cabinet reshuffle involves significant portfolio shifts to enhance provincial governance. Saeed Ghani’s move from Local Government to Labour is a notable change. Meanwhile, Ali Rashid’s new role in IT signals growing emphasis on digital development. The government hopes these changes will boost overall efficiency and service delivery in Sindh.
