Pakistan, India clash again in Asia cup super 4

Published on: September 21, 2025 3:43 PM

Pakistan and India are set to face off once again in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup today, with the high-voltage contest scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm Pakistan Standard Time. Pakistan, still recovering from their group stage loss to India by seven wickets, will be eager to avenge that defeat and strengthen their chances of qualifying for the final. The Dubai International Stadium remains the venue, and Andy Pycroft will serve as match referee once more.

Ahead of the clash, Pakistan’s squad received an enthusiastic welcome at the Dubai Cricket Academy, where not only Pakistani but also Indian fans gathered to cheer for their favorite stars. Fakhar Zaman, in particular, was surrounded by Indian supporters who took photos and asked for autographs, showcasing the unique charm of this cricket rivalry. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also visited the players, speaking with captain Salman Ali Agha and coach Mike Hesson to lift morale and discuss final strategies.

Team management has confirmed tactical adjustments, including a reshuffle in the batting order. Young opener Saim Ayub is likely to bat at number four instead of opening, aiming to strengthen the middle order. Hussain Talat is expected to replace Hasan Nawaz in the lineup, while pace spearheads Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf are set to retain their positions. These changes reflect Pakistan’s intent to counter India with fresh combinations and more balanced depth.

In a surprising move, the Pakistan cricket team cancelled its scheduled pre-match press conference on Saturday, sparking speculation about last-minute changes and tactical secrecy. Officials, however, emphasized that the decision was meant to keep players focused on preparations rather than media commitments. Analysts believe the choice underscores the pressure of the upcoming clash, given the intense public and media scrutiny surrounding Pakistan-India matches.

Fans on both sides are bracing for another electrifying encounter, with the atmosphere in Dubai already charged with anticipation. For Pakistan, this is more than just a match—it is an opportunity to redeem their earlier loss and boost their confidence heading into the final stages of the tournament. With both teams in form and determined, cricket lovers worldwide are expecting a thrilling and closely fought contest under the lights.
