Heavy rains have returned to various areas of Karachi, bringing relief and concern alike. The city saw light to heavy showers in neighborhoods like Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, and near the airport. Meanwhile, areas such as Gulshan-e-Hadeed and Steel Town East also experienced rainfall, making the weather pleasant.
In addition, Korangi and areas around Shahrah-e-Faisal witnessed heavy downpours. Earlier this morning, light showers and drizzle also refreshed several parts of Karachi. Key locations including Saddar, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Defence, Korangi Road, Burns Road, and Gulistan-e-Johar saw intermittent rain.
Further light rain occurred in University Road, Mahmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, and nearby areas, causing water to collect in low-lying spots. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms expected to continue for the next two days. These conditions increase the risk of flooding in vulnerable neighborhoods.
Outside Karachi, other Sindh cities like Hyderabad, Sujawal, Thatta, Sukkur, and Mirpur Mathelo experienced intense monsoon rain. The Meteorological Department forecasts more heavy rainfall in Sindh’s districts, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Shaheed Benazirabad, through September 10.
Residents are urged to stay cautious and prepare for worsening weather conditions as monsoon rains persist. Authorities remain on alert to handle flooding and other rain-related emergencies. The rains bring hope for some relief but also challenges due to potential waterlogging and damage.
