Here’s what Ranveer Singh has to say about the Mahira-Ranbir controversy

Published on: November 6, 2017 3:09 PM

Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapoor made headlines that broke the internet when they were snapped during a ‘smoking showdown’ in the alleys and gullies of New York.

While the upcoming Verna star received strong disapproval in light of her inappropriate cultural and moral values, many celebrities from Pakistan as well as India including the Tamasha star, Ranbir Kapoor himself, stood up for her in a joined attempt to boost her morale and slam all those who were bringing her down.

The latest and most recent two cents on the matter now come up from another Bollywood hottie, Ranveer Singh, who in an interview with Filmfare magazine shared his views on the pictures still making rounds on social media by drawing parallels to his own experience with the media and heard-hearted paparazzi.

“I can only speak about myself here. There are times when I’m at a certain place with certain people and I don’t want those private moments to be captured by anyone. But, you can’t help it. You got to take the bad with the good. I get to do what I love to do and I make a lot of money. But some things are irritating and you’ve got to take them in your stride. It’s a crazy world.”

The Padmavati actor also pitched in some food for thought for Mahira, who maintained her calm and composure after the pictures were mercilessly leaked.

“Everyone has their own interpretation. Everyone has their own set of values. Everyone has an opinion. You can hear them but you needn’t subscribe to them. At the end of the day, one should just live and let live and focus on more important things. Mahira is a great performer and an entertainer. One should ideally engage with her at just that level,” Ranveer asserted himself.

Could we agree more?

On the work front, we will soon be seeing Ranveer hit the big screens while playing the role of the antagonist Sultan Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated Padmavati, opposite Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor – all set to hit theaters towards the end of this year on 1 December, 2017.
