Maryam Nawaz launches second phase of honhaar scholarship

Published on: August 10, 2025 4:37 PM

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the second phase of the Honhaar Scholarship programme, aiming to provide educational opportunities to thousands of students across the province. This new phase will extend support to 80,000 students, enabling them to pursue studies in various fields that are vital for building a strong future. She made the announcement through a message posted on her official social media account, directly addressing the youth of Punjab.

Highlighting the impact of the programme, Maryam Nawaz proudly stated that since its start last year, the initiative has already supported 80,000 talented young individuals. Currently, 50,000 students are receiving financial aid under this scheme, while 30,000 more will soon be added to the list of beneficiaries. She described the dreams of these students as the heartbeat of Punjab’s progress, underscoring the government’s commitment to nurturing their potential.

The Chief Minister further explained that the Honhaar Scholarship programme offers opportunities in 67 essential fields, helping students acquire skills and knowledge that can open doors to successful careers. She encouraged applicants to take advantage of this chance by applying with confidence and studying with dedication. Her message focused on inspiring young people to believe in themselves and to aim high in their educational and professional journeys.

Moreover, the government has made the application process more accessible by opening the online portal for the second phase. This move ensures that eligible students from different parts of Punjab can easily apply without facing unnecessary hurdles. Maryam Nawaz urged students to approach their studies with passion and persistence, reminding them that education is the key to achieving their dreams and transforming their lives.

In addition, she expressed deep gratitude for the progress made so far, acknowledging the hard work and determination of the scholarship recipients. She reassured them of her full support, pledging that her administration will continue working tirelessly to expand educational opportunities across the province. This commitment, she said, reflects the government’s vision of empowering the youth and preparing them to lead Punjab into a brighter future.

Ultimately, the launch of the second phase of the Honhaar Scholarship reaffirms the province’s focus on education as a foundation for long-term growth. With thousands of students set to benefit, this initiative not only addresses immediate financial challenges but also invests in the human capital that will shape the future of Punjab.
