
ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Commerce has launched a new digital trade platform to support e-commerce growth and strengthen Pakistan’s position in regional business connectivity through digital corridors.
The announcement was made at the GLOBE Pakistan Summit 2025, where Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Mr. Rana Ihsaan Afzal, delivered a keynote address outlining Pakistan’s vision to lead in regional digital trade.
The summit, organized in partnership with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), marked the government’s first formal step toward building a strong digital trade framework that connects Pakistan with neighboring markets.
Speaking at the event, Commerce Secretary Jawad Paul said the platform aims to create a secure and globally integrated environment for digital trade. He added that the initiative will support local e-commerce platforms in reaching international markets.
Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch also emphasized the importance of economic diplomacy. She highlighted that digital tools are becoming key in developing cross-border trade and improving regional partnerships.
Overall, the new platform is expected to boost business opportunities, encourage innovation, and pave the way for Pakistan’s integration into the global digital economy.
