Ronaldo: “Saudi Arabia feels like home—We’re here to stay”

Global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his decision to settle permanently in Saudi Arabia, sharing heartfelt appreciation for the country’s peaceful environment and warm culture. In a video message released by his club, Al Nassr, Ronaldo said he and his family feel truly at home in Saudi Arabia, describing it as a safe and welcoming place.

Ronaldo emphasized, “My family always supports my decisions, and we are very happy living here. That’s why we have chosen to build our life in Saudi Arabia for the long term.” The 40-year-old Portuguese forward joined Al Nassr at the end of 2022 after parting ways with Manchester United. Recently, he extended his contract until 2027, signaling his commitment to both the club and the country.

He disclosed that he declined an invitation to play in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S. to focus on rest and preparation. Ronaldo’s goal is to help Al Nassr win a major title and elevate the Saudi Pro League, which he ranks among the world’s top five football leagues.

Looking ahead, Ronaldo expressed excitement about Saudi Arabia co-hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup, calling it “the most beautiful event in history.” He also praised the local people for their kindness and hospitality, reinforcing his desire to make Saudi Arabia his permanent home.
