TEL AVIV – Tensions escalated sharply on Tuesday as Iran launched fresh ballistic missile and drone attacks targeting Israel’s capital, Jerusalem, and the city of Tel Aviv. According to international media, five people were injured in the strikes.
Loud explosions echoed across several Israeli cities early Tuesday morning, triggering air raid sirens in various regions. The Israeli military confirmed the detection of incoming missiles from Iran and warned civilians to seek immediate shelter.
Shortly after the attack, Israel’s air force launched a response operation to intercept the threats. Rescue teams were deployed to affected areas, while authorities confirmed that missile debris fell in parts of Tel Aviv, causing property damage but no reported fatalities.
According to Iranian media, the attacks targeted sensitive Israeli military facilities. Some images shared by Israeli media briefly confirmed the impact before being quickly removed. Fire and Rescue Services in Tel Aviv also reported multiple emergency calls regarding fires caused by missile strikes in the Dan district.
In a statement, Iran said the operation—called “Operation True Promise 3”—was launched in retaliation for days of Israeli aggression. Iranian forces claimed to have fired dozens of advanced missiles into occupied Palestinian territories, with more strikes expected throughout the night.
Meanwhile, China advised its citizens in Israel to evacuate immediately due to worsening security conditions. In response to the attacks, Israel shut down oil refineries in Haifa, where a missile strike reportedly killed three people. The Israeli military has advised residents to stay in shelters as further missile threats loom.
