Pakistan and UAE discuss rising regional tensions following Israeli strikes on Iran

Published on: June 17, 2025 1:34 PM

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday. They discussed the growing tensions in the region caused by Israel’s recent military strikes against Iran.

Both leaders expressed serious concern over the escalating situation. They emphasized the urgent need to support efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region. Their discussion highlighted the importance of cooperation to prevent further conflict.

The call followed Senator Dar’s conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty a day earlier. During that talk, both leaders condemned Israel’s military action and expressed worry about the worsening regional situation.

Senator Dar and Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed their commitment to work together to maintain peace not only in the region but also beyond. They agreed that diplomatic efforts must be intensified to reduce tensions.

Pakistan and its regional partners are closely monitoring the developments, recognizing the potential risks to regional security. They stressed the importance of dialogue and peaceful solutions amid growing conflicts.

As tensions continue to rise, Pakistan and the UAE aim to play a constructive role in calming the situation and promoting stability for the benefit of all nations in the region.
