KARACHI – Superstar Humayun Saeed has opened up about the struggles behind making his latest film Love Guru and shared a heartfelt promise to make cinema more affordable for fans.
Speaking at a press conference at Karachi Press Club, Saeed highlighted the challenges filmmakers face in Pakistan, including the limited number of cinema screens and rising ticket prices. He noted that these issues make it difficult for films to reach wider audiences, especially those from low-income groups.
“Making a film in Pakistan is always a risky investment,” he said. “There are fewer screens, and with high costs, it becomes hard for both filmmakers and moviegoers.” He added that during the initial days of Love Guru’s release, he stayed home feeling anxious about the audience’s reaction.
However, after witnessing the film’s strong box office performance, Humayun felt relieved and energized by the public’s response. “When I saw the love and support pouring in, I finally felt confident enough to come out and thank everyone,” he shared with a smile.
In a generous move, the actor-producer announced that if the film continues to perform well, he will introduce half-price tickets for underprivileged viewers. This, he said, would help bring more people back to cinemas and make entertainment accessible for all.
“I believe in giving back,” Saeed said. “If Love Guru keeps winning hearts, I want those who usually can’t afford a ticket to also enjoy it.” His gesture has been warmly welcomed by fans and the film industry alike.
