A high-level delegation from ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization) countries visited Lahore’s historic Shalimar Garden and other cultural landmarks yesterday. Director General of Walled City Authority, Kamran Lashari warmly welcomed the delegation and gave them a guided tour, highlighting the Mughal architecture and various sections of the garden. A vibrant cultural show was organized in honor of the delegation, featuring renowned artists who showcased regional dances, music, and folk art. The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the sky. The ECO delegation admired the captivating beauty of Shalimar Garden, describing it as an exceptional blend of Mughal architecture and natural splendor. Later, a special dinner was hosted in the historic Haveli Restaurant in Lahore in honor of the guests. Additional Chief Secretary Ahmad Raza Sarwar and Secretary of Tourism Fareed Ahmad Tarar warmly received the delegation. The dinner was attended by senior government officials, where emphasis was laid on promoting cultural ties. The guests were also given tours of the Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, and Minar-e-Pakistan. The delegation found the evening views of these landmarks enchanting and took memorable photos and selfies. ECO ambassadors also visited Delhi Gate, Gali Surjan Singh, and Wazir Khan Mosque. Refreshments were served, followed by a tour of the Shahi Hammam. The traditional Lahori atmosphere, food, music, and culture won the hearts of the delegation. The guests stated that the evening truly reflected Pakistan’s cultural identity and exceptional hospitality. On this occasion, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that the visit of the ECO delegation is proof of the international recognition of Pakistan’s tourism potential. She added that Lahore’s culture, art, and hospitality deeply impressed the guests.
