Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam reached an unwanted milestone in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10. He scored another duck in the match between Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. Babar was dismissed without scoring by bowler Mohammad Amir at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This marks another entry in a growing list of scoreless innings for the star batter.
With this latest dismissal, Babar now equals the record of former Zalmi player Kamran Akmal. He also surpasses Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi for the most ducks in PSL history. The all-time record for the most ducks is held by Imad Wasim, who has recorded 12. Former Zalmi fast bowler Wahab Riaz is next, with a total of 10 ducks.
Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi’s Mohammad Ali also faced a challenging match. The right-arm pacer struggled in his first appearance of the season. He bowled four overs, conceding 57 runs without taking a wicket. This performance ranks as the second worst in Zalmi history.
Ali’s figures of 57 runs for no wickets only trail Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai. Omarzai gave away 62 runs while taking two wickets in a past PSL match. Both Babar and Ali will be closely watched as Zalmi aims to make a strong comeback in the tournament.
