A potentially catastrophic incident was narrowly averted today at the New Islamabad International Airport when a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, PK 325 bound for Quetta lead to a perilous situation in the air. According to reports from the control tower, the pilot of the Airbus A320 aircraft immediately alerted air traffic control upon detecting anomalies in the engine’s performance following the collision with a bird mid-flight. With swift action and impeccable skill, the pilot skillfully manoeuvred the aircraft for a safe return to Islamabad Airport. Passengers onboard the flight recounted the tense moments as the pilot swiftly executed emergency procedures, ensuring the safety of all those aboard. “It was a sudden jolt, followed by a loud noise.We knew something was wrong,” said one passenger, praising the professionalism and composure exhibited by the flight crew amidst the crisis. Upon landing, the aircraft was grounded, and a team of engineers was summoned to assess the extent of the damage. Meanwhile, passengers scheduled to travel to Quetta were promptly accommodated on an alternate flight, ensuring minimal disruption to their travel plans.
