Sir: I often hear people blaming India, Israel and the US for our internal problems, especially the poor law and order situation. We should know and admit the fact that we ourselves are responsible for our country’s poor law and order situation and the crippled economic conditions. We have never acted like a united nation. We prefer our personal advantages to our collective ones as a nation. The law and order situation in Karachi, Balochistan and the tribal belt is self-created. We want to subjugate our less fortunate fellows and do not even refrain from using force and resorting to violence for this purpose. We keep them impoverished, trample over their rights and when they resist we resort to violence. Our flawed policy with regard to jihad in Afghanistan and the jihadi proxies have backfired on us. We never hesitate in killing our brethren over sectarian, ethnic and political differences. Had we been tolerant and united, no foreign hand could ever be successful in creating problems in our country. HAMZA KHANaKarachi
