‘Keep Upper Dir clean’

DIR: Senior minister Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KP) and provincial minister for local government and rural development Inayatullah has said that people should also play their active role in maintaining Dir Upper clean and green. He was addressing a gathering at the inauguration ceremony of clean and green Dir at the TMA office in Dir.

MNA Sahibzada Tariqullah, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Mehsud, Colonel Ilyas of 184wing, District Nazim Sahibzada Faseehullah and others were also present at the occasion.

Mr Inayat said that immediately after becoming provincial minister he had launched a program to keep Peshawar city clean and green with the slogan of ‘clean and green Peshawar’. And he succeeded in his mission and made Peshawar a clean and green city. He said that after making Peshawar clean and green he diverted his intentions towards Dir, his native constituency. He appealed to people to play their active role in making Dir a clean and green.

The senior minister said that clean water for the residents of Dir city was being provided soon for which the initial survey had been completed. “Rs 500 million has been spent on repairs of link roads and other projects in Dir city and at the end of this year Rs 700 million would further be spent on execution of various projects,” he said.

The provincial minister said that the TMA Dir had been facing a shortage in janitorial staff and it is very difficult to keep maintain cleanliness of the Dir town with only 20 staff. He directed the Tehsil Nazim to recruit more staff under its capability.
