KARACHI: Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation organized an annual volunteer programs aimed at providing training to the students in the field of community services, patient care and civic education. Three hundred students representing various schools and colleges of the city attended the week long program. Speaking at the concluding ceremony, Prof Adib Rizvi, Director of SIUT, said that the program is designed in such a manner that students learn and develop understanding to mitigate the sufferings of the people. This, he said, makes them good citizen and also brings a positive change in their outlook in life. Prof Adib pointed out that the program is very popular ever since it was launched 10 years ago. He informed that during the training program volunteers received training about the basic guidelines of patient care in the field of Laboratory, Radiology, Urology, Dialysis, Transplantation, medical and surgical sciences. Those who attended the program received certificates which was a part of the concluding ceremony. So far around 6000 students have attended the program. Published in Daily Times, July 23rd , 2017.
