Karachi: Governor Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, has said that provision of basic facilities such as education, health and potable water is the responsibility of the government, which can be criticized for failure, but budget allocations should also be considered as major chunk of the budget goes for the defence spending. Addressing the participants of Saylani Welfare International Trust Symposium 2017 held at the PAF Museum, the Governor Sindh observed worst conditions of education, health and roads in Sindh. “In such circumstances Saylani is the fresh ray of hope. I will personally inform Prime Minister and also to the people in Islamabad about the great contributions of Saylani through welfare activities for the national cause”, he added. I recommend Saylani should be awarded with highest national award for best performance, he suggested. Maulana Bashir Faroqui, Patron-In-Chief of Saylani Welfare International Trust lamented that despite the lapse of 70 years, since the creation of Pakistan, the rulers have not done anything for the welfare of the people of the country. Allah may bless us with rulers who should have realization about sufferings of humans, he prayed. The budget of Saylani has increased to Rs3630 million, he informed adding that with the network of around 125 branches 2000 employees are engaged for wellbeing of poor segment of the society, he told. He said the Salyani has increased its outreach to 25 countries while at home the activities have been started in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Chiniot, and many other cities. “Salyani extends its cooperation, if needed, to organizations like Edhi, Ansar Burni, Chippa”, he noted. Amir Madni, Joint Secretary of Saylani Welfare International Trust said that the organization has completed its 18 years in the service of humanity in the country. “So far 1400 rickshaws and 700 motorcycles have been distributed among the needy. The rickshaw worth Rs 220,000 is being given to the needy for Rs 180,000 in 18 installments of Rs 10,000 each, he noted. Every day Saylani dastarkhwan facilitates to around 125,000 poor and needy, Madni said adding “The greatest virtue is to please a grieving heart”. “There is no dearth of resources in our country and if the ruler want we can rule the world as more than 150 countries have less resources than what we have”, he claimed adding “Our youth population is around 70 percent like only around 10 countries. We are at top in terms of mineral resources such as copper, gold, and coal. We also stand at top for having best fruits like mango and orange”. “If the whole Pakistan works like Saylani we can feed the whole Asia”, he said adding 900 years ago charity and welfare organizations like Saylani were fully functional in Islamic world. Yahya Polani, Ex- Chairman of Travel Agents Association of Pakistan speaking on the occasion said that government should facilitate organizations like Saylani. “No even a single penny can be embezzled here”, he observed.
